Hi everyone! Welcome back. I’m currently writing this blog post from inside a cute little bakeshop in Fishtown called “Cake Life”. You may have heard of them on the news for having made Beyonce’s extravagant birthday cake! Needless to say, they are extremely talented. My mother is throwing her 50th birthday in early October and is looking forward to ordering her cake from here! She’s bougie as hell, so I didn’t expect anything less.
Today, I wanted to talk about transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall. I’ve already planned out my entire color palette for the season, as well as my blog. As OCD as it sounds, it is apparently the most effective way in growing a blog. If you’re reading this and you aren’t a blogger, this probably sounds insane. BUT, in order to steadily gain readers + followers, bloggers need to carry a sort of “cohesiveness” in their instagram feeds, as well as their blogs. I’ve tried this out by using the same edits/presets, but I ultimately feel that it takes away from one’s originality. It makes every social media account look exactly the same (i.e. travel blogs, the millions of other fashion bloggers that exist). That being said, I’ve decided to stray away from this tactic and instead focus on a fall color palette for the season. Most people look for a variation in 3 signature hues when stocking up new pieces for their wardrobe: olives, browns, and oranges. This is exactly what I set out to do. I hope you all enjoy what I have planned for the season, and thanks for sticking around with me! Now let’s get into it.
Don’t think that you have to blow your budget on buying new pieces for the fall. This season does not mean loading up on a completely new wardrobe. BUT, what you can do is start dabbling into darker colors, richer textures, and a little more warmth. This way, you can still keep some of your favorite summer clothes out a while longer. Just throw on a comfy cardigan + some booties and call it a day. You don’t have to put away your maxi dresses or peep-toed footwear just yet.
Earlier this year, I purchased this gorgeous olive BCBG Max Azria dress from Lord and Taylor. If you happened to read my last blog post, you’ll know that I buy all of my BCBG clothing from there! It is the most affordable way to get these unique & gorgeous items. I love everything about this dress from the color to the way it moves. It is so comfortable and is perfect for warm days in September. It is currently on sale for 58 bucks (see below)!! This is such a steal, as I purchased mine for over 100! I’ll definitely be wearing this one a ton on the weekends! I paired it with my Aldo saddle bag I purchased a while back, and Sam Edelman sandals (find exact + similar details below). This dress is very functional, in that in can be worn for 3 seasons: spring, summer, and fall. I always aim to buy clothing that I can wear longer than just one season.
Let’s summarize:
-
Transition into fall by adding olive, brown, and orange hues to your wardrobe
-
Use some of your functional summer pieces + layer up
-
If you want some cute af BCBG clothing for less, LOOK INTO LORD & TAYLOR! Not even sponsored, just obsessed!
